Have you ever taken “communion?” In Christian churches that I’ve attended, especially on Easter Sunday, it involves eating a piece of unleavened bread and drinking a sip of wine or grape juice. Some people actually argue whether it had alcohol in it, BUT, what if I told you it was neither wine nor grape juice?
What if I told you it was just another “dead tradition” that Jesus warned us about, and had nothing to do with drinking or eating anything, but rather, is all a spiritual act that you may already be participating in every day. It has EVERYTHING to do with “Christ” intoxication. Being filled with the Spirit, and then pouring that Spirit into the souls of yourselves and others.
Obviously, this article contains a much deeper meaning of what it means to turn water into wine. People who aren’t necessarily strict and learned Bible students, which includes myself, sometimes are not familiar with the fact that John is the only one to write of the water into wine miracle. Even more surprising is that towards the end of John’s gospel he gives us some very slick information on how to interpret what he wrote about it, when he records Jesus as saying that “he was the true vine.”
If you want the truth, you must rise to a different level of consciousness to understand what is written here, which pretty much means that you have already given your “tithes” (inner questioning, meditation, silence, thinking for yourself) to God, and then, and only then, will a blessing of knowledge be poured out to you which your soul can’t fully contain. The Kingdom is within, and the Kingdom is Spirit, and it involves everything the physical eyes and the physical body cannot participate in.
Jesus had much to say to his disciples, but they could not “bear” it, which means they could not comprehend it. Truth is hidden from the one who has never given thought or questioned for themselves. “What is truth?”, said Pilate. Well, no man and no Bible can give it to you, but can only lead you to where all truth resides; within you. You will not find it on TV, or from me, or any preacher. The truth is written here, but few have understood it. If it doesn’t make sense, come back one day when you’ve turned off the world, and tuned in to yourself.

Water Into Wine – Spirit into Christ
If you have turned from the world and put aside your “from birth” programming, the next four paragraphs should give you an “AHA” moment that makes the hairs on your body stand up. If that doesn’t happen, ask that your eyes be opened, because you are blind; spiritually blind. Christ heals the spiritually blind, deaf, mute, and lame. Those he healed in the Bible still died a physical death, so if they were literal, they were really wasted miracles. The body is temporary like a car, and begins to depreciate the day it is born. The soul is eternal. Which one do you think the Bible is concerned with? I hate to be so blunt, but the Ego (the BEAST) needs to be checked and killed.
To be clear, when the Bible speaks of a vine it is referring to a grapevine, and there is only ONE thing in this world that has the ability to turn water into wine, and that is indeed a grapevine. BUT, Jesus is a SPIRITUAL vine!!! If we look at the literal job of a grapevine, we will see just how brilliantly John records Jesus as giving us the true spiritual meaning.
You see, a literal grapevine takes water from beneath the ground and as the water goes up the vine, it is transformed. It then spreads out into the branches and the branches burst forth with the fruit (grapes). When the grapes are cared for and aged properly, they are used to make sweet wine. But Jesus is not a literal grapevine is he? So how does he turn water into wine spiritually? Well let’s look at what John records as Jesus talks privately to his disciples.
John 15:1-5 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Do you see how Jesus, as the true spiritual vine within us, acts in the exact same way as a literal vine. This is the nature of symbolism; using things of a material nature to describe things of a spiritual nature. As our spirit (the water) is filtered through the Christ consciousness (the vine), it flows through the branches (us) and we are able to put forth the true fruit. In this case that fruit is the grapes, which represents the love we carry and also the divine wisdom and value that we have learned through the Father pruning our dead branches (acts that are not “fruitful,” or helpful to us or others). When we give our thoughts and meditations (aging the grapes) to the true nature of the things we’ve learned, they become like fine wine, which is the divine wisdom and love within us. It is this wine that we ourselves drink and also pour into the souls of others, and a little wine makes the heart (soul) merry.
We must understand that the disciples are US. They all live within US. Not being rude here, but who cares what Jesus told some men nearly 2100 years ago. It’s obvious that’s not working for society and the world now. But that’s because we’ve all been led astray by those who are ignorant of soul science; those who are overly academically accomplished. I try to keep from hurting people’s feelings, but when a person drops the ego, and truly begins a search the “truth,” these things will naturally become apparent, and Jesus will open up the scriptures (Luke 24:45) to you also (as he did his disciples, which we’ve already said all reside within you). The Bible is about YOU and ME.
Simply put: Have you ever been in a bad mood and then decided to go out and be around some friends who “lift your spirits” by sharing their love and friendship with you? Of course, we all have. That’s the simplicity of any of this. The only thing any of us need and desire is the love within each other, and that’s something of a different nature than this physical world; IT IS DIVINE, and our realization of this eternal truth leads us all to participate in the first miracle.
The First Miracle Further Examined
John’s account of the first miracle begins with Jesus and his disciples being invited to a wedding feast. A wedding feast occurs after the ceremony of marriage and this wasn’t Jesus’ wedding. This is a story about what takes place in each individual soul as it begins to hear the calling of our “mother,” which I consider to be heaven, the mother of us all. In Galatians 4:26, Paul says the same thing, but words it different by saying that our mother is the “Jerusalem above”. Our minds are her daughters (as in the fallen angels came into the “daughters of men”). I do not think that it is a mistake that John mentions Jesus’ “mother” three different times, but never calls her Mary. But all the components of this account are all things that are happening within the same person (you and me), so it’s clear Jesus isn’t ready for his own bride yet, but he is beginning the journey.
Notice that Jesus himself was reluctant to participate and obey his mother, and plainly (and kind of rudely) states, “Woman, what does that have to do with me?” and “My time has not yet come.” Jesus was still trying to put aside his higher calling, and just like us, our first instincts are usually to resist, for whatever various reasons, usually FEAR. His “mother” pretty much tells him to hush and get with the program, giving us the little kick in the pants we sometimes need in order to leave our comfort zone and continue spiritual growth. It isn’t easy leaving old teachings, traditions, energies, and habits behind.
There are six empty water pots here, which is one short of seven, which is the number representative of completion. People think that Jesus came into the world perfect, but Hebrews 5:8 plainly states otherwise. On our spiritual journey of ascension and enlightenment, the “waterpots” or “cups” must first be emptied out. All of the old must be emptied before pure water (HOLY SPIRIT) from above can be added. ONE SINGLE DROP of ink or poison can contaminate a whole lot of water.
Another important part of the story is that Jesus and his disciples were all “invited.” The invitation is for everyone, but we are the ones who must make a conscious decision to accept it, and we do this (just like Jesus) by first turning our own water into wine and offering it up to the Father. If our love and desire to begin our journey of crucifixion of the old self is pure, then our acceptance of the invitation and our offering will be accepted and commended as being “good wine.”
The end of this particular account tells us that after Jesus manifested his glory that the disciples believed on him. The beauty of the gospels is that they do not necessarily lay out the literal details of just Jesus’ life. They describe the journey that each and every individual soul will eventually walk. Since this is the story of one soul, basically, all the aspects of it are also contained within the single soul, including the disciples.
Revelation 21:14 says, “And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” The twelve apostles are symbolic of the personality, and they are all a part of every human psyche. It depends on where we are on our journey at any particular time in our life as to which disciple is being taught by the Christ nature and/or being manifested through our individual ego, which will be discussed in an upcoming article, and it will blow your mind, and blessed is the one who understands it and is not offended.
To sum all this up, when we as individuals hear the invitation to climb the highest mountains and attain the highest heavens, our initial reaction is to resist, as did Jesus. However, the Christ nature at work within us will heed the call by turning our spirits into that worthy of being offered up to the “Father of spirits” (Hebrews 12:9), which in this story is represented by the Governor of the feast. All aspects of our lower nature (the twelve apostles) will be present and eventually be absorbed into the light that we are becoming.
Thus our water (spirit) will flow through the Christ vine and into all aspects of our being, resulting in us putting forth the true spiritual fruit of the vine. Thus it is we that will do the things Jesus did, and even greater. In this way, we obey Jesus’ command to “do this in remembrance of Me.”
